Technology Updates

EV Group closed a deal with MEMS probe card manufacturer, PROTEC for its LITHOSCALE system. The tool will be installed at PMT’s headquarters in Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-Do, South Korea, where it will be used in the production of next-generation MEMS-based probe cards for wafer-level testing of advanced NAND, DRAM, and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) devices.

Siemens Digital Industries Software unveiled an innovative method for sharing precise thermal models of integrated circuit (IC) packages within the electronics supply chain. This approach aims to safeguard intellectual property, improve supply chain collaboration, and enhance the accuracy of models for steady-state and transient thermal analysis, thereby boosting design studies. The Embeddable Boundary Condition Independent Reduced Order Model (BCI-ROM) technology, part of Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio, helps semiconductor companies to generate accurate models that can be shared with clients for downstream high-fidelity 3D thermal analysis without revealing the IC’s internal physical structure.

People on the Move

Adeia appointed Joseph Guiliano as its new Chief IP Officer on January 4, 2024. With a career spanning three decades, Guiliano has successfully managed various IP legal matters, including patent prosecution, IP transactions, and litigation related to patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation. Throughout his career, he has assisted clients in navigating complex issues in diverse technical disciplines such as medical devices, cellular telephony, semiconductor processing, and linear and streaming media services.

Indium Corporation recently elevated two members of its industry-leading quality management team. Marlene Natale has been promoted to the role of Senior Manager, Corporate Quality, while Cliff Talbot has assumed the position of Senior Quality Engineering Technician.
