While raising my daughters, I ascribed to the philosophy:
“A parent’s charge – give them roots and give them wings.” I believe this also applies to brainchildren. At some point, your work is done, and rather than clinging to them and holding them back, you let them go, so they can soar.
3D InCites was my brainchild, and as it turns 17 in 2026, it’s time for me to embrace my empty nest and send it off for its next big adventure, where I hope it will grow and thrive beyond my wildest expectations.
I’m beyond thrilled to share that my business partner, Martijn Pierik, and I have found a new steward for the 3D InCites brand. It will become part of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS). By passing the torch to them, I feel confident that they will preserve our legacy far into the future.
IMAPS has been our Official Industry Partner for many years, hosting the 3D InCites Awards, the Hike for DEI, the 3D InCites podcast, and the Back Yard Olympics to support the 3D InCites Scholarship through the Microelectronics Foundation. It is a natural fit, and I’m excited to see where IMAPS takes 3D InCites next.
In the near term, 3D InCites will be taking a brief hiatus from posting new content during the transition period. You’ll be hearing from the IMAPS Team directly once that’s done.
It’s been a pleasure and an honor to serve this community as your Queen of 3D. I hope our paths cross in the future.
