In 2020 Edwards abatement systems prevented the equivalent of 17.7 million tons of CO2 emissions at customers’ facilities. A significant achievement for 2021 was winning the SEMICON West Best of the West award for recycling for our hydrogen recovery sub-system, which can be added to integrated vacuum and abatement systems to recover and recycle hydrogen gas, which is used in large quantities by EUV lithography systems. Recovering/recycling hydrogen can reduce costs, carbon footprint, and associated hazards. Benefits accrue both upstream and downstream.
