While most of SEMI’s global events went virtual in 2020, SEMICON Europa was straight-up canceled. While I was disappointed, since it’s my favorite SEMI event, I was also glad to not miss out, as COVID-19 prevented international travel. I was also relieved that it didn’t go virtual, since at the time I was pretty tapped out on virtual events. In its place, the SEMI Europe team rallied and created the Technology Unites Global Summit, a virtual event that kicks off on Monday, February 15, and runs until Friday, February 19, 2020, with lots of great programs planned, and a virtual exhibit hall with set exhibitor hours to accommodate different time zones.

We are excited to be exhibiting! We’ll be relying on Steffen Kröhnert, of ESPAT Consulting, to represent us during the morning exhibitor times CET on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. And Trine and I will be available during the 5-7 evening exhibits. There are also a number of 3D InCites Community Members participating – either presenting, sponsoring, or exhibiting.

Technology Unites Executive Forum – Monday, February 15

Joining SEMI’s Ajit Manocha and other technology leaders from around the globe offering high-level insights about our digital future, are Jason Shields, VP of Equipment Intelligence® Lam Research, and Yin Chang, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, ASE Group.

Hosted Sessions – Tuesday, February 16

ASE’s John Hunt, Rich Rice, and Mark Gerber will lead an Advanced Packaging technology discussion that explores cutting-edge heterogeneous integration technologies that address functional areas from silicon integration, power integration, optical integration to system integration, all of which form the backbone of many electronic components, subsystems, and electronics products today.

Join SEMI’s James Amano and Ayo Kajopaiye, who will provide an update on current Smart Manufacturing Standards activity in the SEMI Standards Program as well as collaborative efforts underway in the SEMI Smart Manufacturing initiative.

MEMS & Imaging Sensors Forum – Wednesday, February 17

As part of the Technology Unites Global Summit,  this full-day forum focused on integrated sensors enabling IoT innovation features speakers from across the MEMS supply chain, including several 3D InCites Community members including:

  • Maurus Tschirky, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Evatec, will present Piezoelectrics and Soft Magnetics: Evatec Thin Film Technologies for Advanced Functional Materials in MEMs
  • Bernd Dielacher, Business Development Manager, EV Group, will present Novel Bonding Technologies for Photonic and MEMS Sensor Integration
  • Chris Jones, SPTS Technologies Ltd. who will present Deposition and Etch Processing of Highly Doped AlScN for Piezo-MEMS applications

Diversity Forum – Thursday, February 18

Sponsored by SPTS Technologies, along with other companies, this half-day event focuses on Next Practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, providing

best practices to organizations aiming to improve their diversity, equity, and inclusion policies on:

  • Gender parity and equity in the semiconductor industry
  • Creating a culture of inclusion
  • Sponsorship and mentorship in the promotion of diversity

The Forum will also feature a workshop on advocating for yourself and provide interactive engagement opportunities to participants.

Smart MedTech Forum – Friday, February 19

In addition to his presentation at the MEMS and Image Sensor Forum, EV Group’s Bernd Dielacher, will also be presenting Manufacturing Technologies for Next-Generation Microfluidics during the Smart MedTech Forum.

Exhibition – Daily from 9-11 am and 5-7 pm CET

SEMI Europe has strategically made time in the agenda for attendees to visit the exhibitors without missing critical content. These events are made possible by the exhibitors and sponsors, so please take the time to stop by and chat with your colleagues who will be so happy to see you!

3D InCites Community Members exhibiting include:

  • CyberOptics
  • Evatec
  • SPTS, A KLA Company
  • Trymax Semiconductors
