Last year, we put our money where our mouth is. Instead of just talking about how diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is critical to the future of the semiconductor industry, we created the 3D InCites DEI Fund to help tech start-ups owned by women and under-represented minorities grow and thrive. We seeded the fund with 20K from proceeds of the 2021 3D InCites Awards and our annual Mural Project. But 20K isn’t enough to issue annual awards to deserving start-ups. To meet our ambitious goal of 100k by the end of 2022, we need to raise another $80K, and we need your help. Check out the opportunities below to see how your company can participate.

2022 3D InCites Awards

We will launch the 2022 3D InCites Awards program on January 20. A portion of the proceeds will once again benefit the DEI Fund. So far, KLA and EV Group have signed on once again to be Platinum Sponsors.  Evatec is a Gold Sponsor. We have more sponsorships available at the Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Participant levels. Check out the details here.* Awards will be presented after the Keynote Session on, March 8, 2022.

2022 Mural Project

Once again, we’ve partnered with IMAPS to host some special activities at the IMAPS Device Packaging Conference, March 7-10, 2022, to build awareness and grow the fund in the process.

Illustrator, Ronna Encarnacion will be back in-person to create another original mural featuring donor logos. Watch as the mural comes to life over the two days of the conference. Here’s a look at last year’s time-lapse video, part of our virtual celebration of the 2021 3D InCites Awards. For a donation of $500, Ronna will include your logo in the mural. 100% of the proceeds from the Mural Project will be donated to the DEI Fund.

Space Invaders For DEI

Be sure to swing by our community member, Deca, to play Space Invaders (remember it from the 1980s?) Tim Olson, CEO, Deca, says it’s what inspired him to develop Adaptive Patterning™. Deca will be donating all the quarters they collect to the DEI Fund.

DEI Fund Night at IMAPS DPC 2022 – Wednesday, March 9, 2022

Join us for an extended Happy Hour after the IMAPS Poster Session on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Enjoy a game or two of cornhole, and a relaxing night of networking. Gather your friends for a photo opportunity at our photo booth, with the mural as the backdrop. We’ll be presenting this year’s Sustainability Award and SemiSister Award at this time.

Hike for DEI 2022 – Thursday, March 10, 2022

If you’re not participating in the golf tournament, why not join us for a guided, afternoon hike in the nearby McDowell Sonoran Preserve? Sponsored by KLA, we’ve arranged all the details. The hike is limited to 30 participants. For a minimum donation of $75, you’ll enjoy a two-hour hike, which includes:

  • KLA- branded backpack
  • Transportation to and from the trailhead
  • Hotel escort(s)
  • WFA & CPR certified guides
  • Iced bottled water, and snacks
  • Insurance, permit, and entry fees

Companies who’d like to join KLA as sponsors can sponsor a picnic lunch, and/or contribute branded swag to be included in the backpack.

  • For $2500 donation, become our lunch sponsor. Box lunch will be provided by REI, our hiking outfitter, and will be enjoyed under a ramada at the trailhead before the hike.
  • For $1000 donation, you can provide the following branded items that are needed for a hike in the desert:
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle (24 oz min)
  • Hat

Contact Trine Pierik, 3D InCites membership director.

To recap, here’s how you and your company can contribute to the DEI Fund:

  • Become a 3D InCites Awards Sponsor at the Platinum ($7500), Gold ($4000) or Silver ($1500) level
  • Become a $500 donor to have your logo included on the Mural Project
  • For $2500, sponsor a picnic lunch before the hike at the trailhead
  • Be one of four swag sponsors ($1000) for the Hike for DEI
  • Hike for DEI – ($75 minimum donation)
  • Make a donation of $150 or more through our DEI Fund page and have your logo added.

Thank you for helping us reach our goal!

*Funny story – we used to put the Silver Sponsorship as the second tier because I prefer silver to gold. For some reason that confused people who were used to gold being the second tier. So we’ve changed it this year. Sorry for the confusion! ~ FvT
